C.P.K. (Crazy Poway Kids) was the name of a gang some bored white Poway kids formed as a joke at Abraxas high school in the late 80's. The song itself is not about C.P.K. the gang, they just used that as the title. The meaning of the song is pretty self explanatory. When we are kids most of us don't recognize how easy life is. We constantly dream of the day we turn 18 and can move out and be "free." We waste a lot of energy trying to act older by doing adult things. But when we grow up and move out on our own we finally realize that "the grass IS always greener," and life is no longer the holiday it once was. We never really understand how good we have it, until it's too late. It's a cycle that will keep repeating itself for the rest of our lives. We can always try to live in the past but the important thing is the life we live now. "Right now."
