From the 1980 album of the same name, the very appropriately titled "Keepin' The Summer Alive" for me marks the beginning of the Beach Boys comeback after being mired in a forgettable mess of strange music since the late 60's. This song and it's album aren't as polished as a listener might like, but it is a huge improvement for them as they resuscitate summer and what it means to be a Beach Boy.
This is a fun song, but it can border on being annoyingly repetitive. It was such a welcome change for the band (the album went to #75) and fans. Not a greatest hit, it's still fun, and I enjoy it because of what it symbolizes in keeping the summer alive as well as the Beach Boys.
