I agree somewhat with everyone who has commented.. the "I dreamed of this so long, this used to feel so strong" seems to be about someone finally getting the person they wanted to be with, and they stop liking them so much. And the chorus seems to be "now I wait, wish these thoughts would go away" means the person is waiting for the thoughts of not wanting to be with the person to go away. "I hope I dream of you, 'cause it's taking my life away", seems to be about wanting to longingly wait for that person again, because the stress of being with them when they don't really want to be is swallowing their life and taking it over. A beautiful song, especially with the key change at the bridge.
