(take this scripture, like a picture, wear it around your neck)- like..reffering to wat it says in the bible about the end times, telling u to believe wat it says?? maybe...
(the sky it opens up, dont get swallowed by the flames) - thats like...yea, pretty much the world coming to an end
(there's no sympathy for the dead) - maybe this means dead, as in, people who are damned to eternal death in hell. God will have no sympathy for them and will save only those who follow him.
(life has died yet we're still alive) - life on earth has gone, but we're still alive, (we being those who go to heaven)
(and down below, a sea of damned crashing like a tidle wave) - the people who are damned to hell are being killed all over the earth. from the perspective of someone in heaven? looking down at earth?
(i dive into a holy river and wash away my sins) - maybe this is someone who is getting rid of their sins, so they can go to heaven...
