Black Flowers Lyrics

Why no comments on this amazing record? Possibly my favourite song of all time, I've read that it's about the band getting down about racism in the music industry. They are the black flowers and because they don't play traditional "black music" whatever that means they have been hindered by executives, companies and radio stations who don't know where to place them. However, i think it's actually a much deeper song. For me it's actually about how the world in general just breaks you down, particularly sensitive or artistic people. You can get so wrapped up in beautiful art and music but the reality of everyday existence drags all that out of you "cursed for their will to dream, raped by mankind again". There you have it. The final verse - "no i won't give in to hatred..." might out of context seem a little cheesy or clichéd, but in this song, I find it tremendously uplifting. A triumphant note of defiant hope. I love this song.

One last thing - when i listen to this song, a scene plays out in my head really clearly -something that has never happened with any other song - I won't say what it is, but I wonder if anyone else has a visual association with this music.

@jonny17 I can't agree more.....fantastic, under appreciated song!!!!!!!!!
