I have always considered that album as a show that an imaginary band (sgt. peppers....) has perfomed. so the first version was the opening song of the show and the 2nd one is setting the end of the show while the in-between songs are represinting the show itself .
but the confusing thing is that "why did the song (a day in the life) come after the 2nd version and not before it "
this means that it is not included in the show, is it?
