"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" as written by John Winston Lennon and Paul James Mccartney....
It was twenty years ago today
Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile

So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
We hope you will enjoy the show
We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Sit back and let the evening go

Sgt. Pepper's lonely, Sgt. Pepper's lonely
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
It's wonderful to be here
It's certainly a thrill
You're such a lovely audience
We'd like to take you home with us
We'd love to take you home

I don't really like to stop the show
But I thought that you might like to know
That the singer's going to sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along

So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

General CommentA Day in the Life would be the encore, no? after they "officially" end the show- would make sense cause the best song(s) are often in the encore

General Comment'Sgt. Pepper' needed something else for side 2 and it was Neil Aspinall that suggested to Paul that 'SPLHCB' be reprised. Shortly afterwards, John walked past Neil and said, "Nobody likes a smart-ass." Neil knew then that John liked the idea and it would happen.

General CommentI haven't got the lyrics close at hand right now - in fact, I don't have the lyrics too close at hand anywhere... but I'm sure that the point of the Reprise is that part of the lyrics are "We hope you have enjoyed the show", and not those as printed... gee, I'm good at picking holes, I know, but that's what carphology's for, just making a point.

To have this song as a reprise, personally, I think, works very effectively, besides which, you've still got a track to come on the CD...

General CommentFrom the album, the lyrics are We hope you have enjoyed the show, not we hop you will enjoy the show. Rest is fine though

General Commentthe whispering is just a crowd, and john lennon saying either "Hi" or "Bye" in a creepy upscale voice.

General CommentI have always considered that album as a show that an imaginary band (sgt. peppers....) has perfomed. so the first version was the opening song of the show and the 2nd one is setting the end of the show while the in-between songs are represinting the show itself .
but the confusing thing is that "why did the song (a day in the life) come after the 2nd version and not before it "
this means that it is not included in the show, is it?
Does any body has a clue?
