This is such an emotionally correct song. Its clear a lot of people can identify with this song, i certainly can.
The meaning is fairly clear, a man thinks a woman likes him and fantasises about them being together, but doesn't want to take the plunge and ask her about it. He suspects and later finds out that the whole thing was in his head (or was it...?)
Easily one of dave's best lyrics and one i can identify with so easily 'The silence in me screaming won't you come and get me!'
