The drums and guitar work are way different, and most black metal bands use some sort of keyboard work - there is nothing of the sort here. An ex Cannibal Corpse plays for Deicide now... and what is Cannibal Corpse? Death metal. They are similar, and always will be. There are varying degrees of each music genre - for example, Cradle of Filth can be categorised into many different sub-genres of black metal and goth metal.
