No lord shall stand before myself
I can strike the light and see through the truth
For I'm the Deicide, Dominus, what could you do
Thou has failed you now, once again and always will
On the cross, forgotten son, a sacrifice it had to be done

Died for me, well that's too bad I don't believe
Killed by sins of the evil what I am
Your destruction, reasons of a world in pain
Blind disciple, you will never live again

Wage of death, course of life
Unsematic birth of the Deicide
Eyes of pain, pleads of death
As you're put to rest

Three days to rise
If he lives again he is sure to die
I killed Jesus
Just to see him bleed on his pulpis throne
I am evil
I'm the Deicide and I killed the Lord
No more reasons
I will kill the world in another form

I rule this world

NAIL HIM

I can strike the light and see through the truth
For I'm the Deicide, Dominus, what could you do
Thou has failed you now, once again and always will
On the cross, forgotten son, a sacrifice it had to be done

Died for me, well that's too bad I don't believe
Killed by sins of the evil what I am
Your destruction, reasons of a world in pain
Blind disciple, you will never live again

Oh shut the fuck up. So it's not your kinda music? Get over it. And Visit_Romania, why are you calling Deicide "rock music"? It's fucking death metal, and yes it's satanic death metal at that. It's not giving you rockers a bad name seeing as it's not even in 'your' genre. And to quiffporn, stop being a tosser... I've seen your comments and the reactions on many other songs. It's obvious nobody likes your fucking opinion so stop making them and go back to the hole you crawled out of.

Royal Hermione Emma, I dunno why you bother coming on here to argue, you obviously have nothing else better to do. I'm not a 'bopper' or 'naiive kid' like you believe me to be - with your Harry Potter obsessed name I'm actually pointing the stereotyping finger at you at being one yourself. I happen to like death metal quite alot and Deicide is just one such band I listen to. Take your Christian beliefs elsewhere - I'm not going to bash them but obviously Deicide are, so stop 'offending' yourself even more and bugger off. I don't go to your favourite bands pages (heaven forbid, I wouldn't want to, gathering the shit you're bound to be listening to) and bag them out so grow up and don't do it here.

Bands like Dimmu Borgir, Immortal and Emperor are black metal. While Deicide has the satanic black metal tendencies, it is far from what you'd call black metal. The drums and guitar work are way different, and most black metal bands use some sort of keyboard work - there is nothing of the sort here. An ex Cannibal Corpse plays for Deicide now... and what is Cannibal Corpse? Death metal. They are similar, and always will be. There are varying degrees of each music genre - for example, Cradle of Filth can be categorised into many different sub-genres of black metal and goth metal. If you people don't like Deicide then don't fucking come here and bitch about it. I'm not commenting on your music taste and giving you shit about it, so have a bit of maturity and don't do it to mine.

don't be retarded and think metal is it's own genre. it's a sub genre that is split from rock. and death metal is just a sub-sub-genre so get over yourself you fucking goon

Last time people - find better things to do with your life then insult other peoples music tastes. I don't care what you listen to and if you don't like what I listen to then grow up a bit and fuck off. Really. I don't like being an asshole like this but with ignorant fools like yourself sometimes you just have to be.

Ill try to be fair. Im religus (and before somebody says 'Woot!' Im not a christian, and Im not here to bash) I also LOVE evily heavy metal... death, black, gothic (even if gothic ant that heavy...) I cant help but love the sound of Deicide. Thing is, I dont listen to there anti-God songs, or Id be some kind of even bigger hipocrite (and I know that Deicide menas God-killer, so I suck anyways) I mostly stick to the (slightly) less satanic stuff like Dead By Dawn... I dont think anti-God songs are too cool at all. Im more of a live n let live kinda dude... Peace sunshine_arkhan, you got the right to listen to whatever you want. This IS a Deicide page ffs! And its gotta be said, meatl IS a sub genra of rock.

Hey I never denied the fact that metal is a sub-genre of rock, seeing as rock was around way longer than metal was, and it pretty much created it. So trying to sound know-it-all by telling me that isn't gonna work. But have a bit of maturity and don't insult other people's music taste on such an anonymous place like SongMeanings, cos you're just proving to everybody you got no balls. Just because you don't like it doesn't instantly make it "shit". I'm sure you don't like it when people insult things you listen to or believe in, so just have a bit of respect ok? Fuckers.

think about this, if there was no satan, what empowerment would the church have? jack shit!!! this is the point of the majority of deicide songs. listening to the lyrics you might undersdtand that. If you dont like it then great go to your own music and leave good coments on your fav songs, but for deicide engoers your fking up the comment spaces which should be left only for ppl to explain about the MEANING of the song, hence the name of this site "songMEANINGS" not motha fkn "songTRAHSERs"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Another Love
Tom Odell
I think the meaning is pretty clear. This person got really burned in a previous relationship, and because of this is unable to love and show care in his present one, even though he so badly wants to. It's lovely song, and very sad. You can really feel how defeated and frustrated he is with himself.
