I totally agree with furioku in the sense that he is describing what it's like to be a loner or someone who doesn't feel like they belong at all, it might also be talking about a drug habit but most likely not, i'm just thinking aloud, and the line "When it feels like I’m towin' the line" means that he feels like he has all of these problems dargging him down or holding him back from what he wants to do or become (maybe a drug addiction) but the singer is saying that he has been there or is there and knows what the person is going through
