Well my thing is actually very different..you see... Well, my -ahem- 'friend' Jake..ahh screw it. We like each other alot, but we're not together. And well this was his song to me. And he said it basically means this: We break each others hearts every time we talk, and we get over it quickly. I tease him and he tease me hence 'Why am I still hanging around, when I know it brings me down?' meaning, somehow I always fuck it up, but I put it back together for him. He gets Jealous of the other guys I talk to him about. We both like each other so much and are similar, but something holds us back from being together, and we're both always hating everything. And he knows I've dated other guys, and wonders why I would want to be with him, this song relates to us both so much, especially me being his frustration. He says just change 'Josie' to 'CJ' and it's my song -_-; Which is a bit annoying. But none the less, very true. Because we talk about all the bad times we've had, we've told each other almost our whole pasts, and now we're ready to start making each other into memories, inst6ead of all the bad ones 'Please put your past behind me, it shines so bright it blinds me' we want to get over the past, but it will always be there. And it's very dark pasts, but they're so dark they're bright, and always dragging you back down. I think that might be what it means. But, I don't write their lyrics, and wouldn't know.
