Josie, you're my
Source of most frustration
Forget when I
Don't meet expectations
Everything you wished came true
In the end we all blamed you
Even though, as they all know
You weren't the only one, two, three, four

Why do you still keep it around
When you know it brings me down, I'm hating everything
And I know that you've dated other guys
But I gotta wonder why you'd leave it out for me (shit)

Why am I still hanging around
When I know it brings me down, I'm hating everything
And you are getting rides home in his car
You're making out in his front yard, I'm hating everything

Please don't remind me, put your past behind me
It shines so bright it blinds me, I wish that this would end
And I am not fine, last night I saw you online
Your screen name used to be mine, why can't we just pretend?

And if we can have another day
I've got so much left to say, I'd tell you everything
And I'll laugh when I think about the past
When I see you after class, you're hating everything

Please don't remind me, put your past behind me
It shines so bright it blinds me, I wish that this would end
And I am not fine, last night I saw you online
Your screen name used to be mine, why can't we just pretend?

Please don't remind me, put your past behind me
It shines so bright it blinds me, I wish that this would end
And I am not fine, last night I saw you online
Your screen name used to be mine, why can't we just pretend?

And she said, (na na na na na na na na na na na na na)
"I just forgot you were there" (na na na na na na na na na na na na na)
"I just forgot you were there" (na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na)
"I just forgot you were there" (na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na)

And she said (na na na na na)

    Well my thing is actually very different..you see... Well, my -ahem- 'friend' Jake..ahh screw it. We like each other alot, but we're not together. And well this was his song to me. And he said it basically means this: We break each others hearts every time we talk, and we get over it quickly. I tease him and he tease me hence 'Why am I still hanging around, when I know it brings me down?' meaning, somehow I always fuck it up, but I put it back together for him. He gets Jealous of the other guys I talk to him about. We both like each other so much and are similar, but something holds us back from being together, and we're both always hating everything. And he knows I've dated other guys, and wonders why I would want to be with him, this song relates to us both so much, especially me being his frustration. He says just change 'Josie' to 'CJ' and it's my song -_-; Which is a bit annoying. But none the less, very true. Because we talk about all the bad times we've had, we've told each other almost our whole pasts, and now we're ready to start making each other into memories, inst6ead of all the bad ones 'Please put your past behind me, it shines so bright it blinds me' we want to get over the past, but it will always be there. And it's very dark pasts, but they're so dark they're bright, and always dragging you back down. I think that might be what it means. But, I don't write their lyrics, and wouldn't know. But that's what it means to Jake and I. Just sharing my insight, -CJ- Miss {Disaster}

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
