does every version have a little bit of static around the vocals? I've searched for a clean copy but each seems to have that same background static. It's a pretty cool effect if it's intentional
@HeyPetray LOL - 12 years later - here's your answer. Back in the day the recorded analog (with tapes). what you are hearing is tape hiss from the original recording. They'll never get rid of it unless they re-record the audio track (which I don't think Glenn could do today). This to me, has always been a downside of this track - I never liked that hiss. One minor flaw in a magically great song - I've listened to this my whole life - since release when I was a kid picking up tapes/cd's...
