does every version have a little bit of static around the vocals? I've searched for a clean copy but each seems to have that same background static. It's a pretty cool effect if it's intentional |

Incredible Song. Great song for learning guitar too i might add ;) I didn't know about this song til I saw an AMV for it. Fits Xenogears pefectly. Grahf offers to let "The Power" flow through. It's perfect. It's one of those songs you have to experience through good headphones. :) |

| Pink Floyd – The Great Gig in the Sky Lyrics

"The really wonderful thing is that they used Claire's first take."
-This is incorrect. Alan Parsons, the engineer for DSOTM tells that Clair Torry took several cuts of her gospel in which she is loud in some, and quieter in others. The song is a series of splicings from her cuts. it is NOT one continuous take. It was intended to have the highs and lows.. it is perfection. |

You sure it's not "Turn my lead into gold" ?
That makes more sense to me...
Great Great song, I think it's about never being where you want to be. Being on the outside looking in.. then then inside looking out. :) |

Definitely the best song on the album and definitely the right place for the track. A great way to end the album. I love the lyrics though I know I can't relate so well. Very very powerful. SW was my favorite band and this was the first CD i ever owned so of course i played it a lot.. somehow their style never gets old for me.
This is art. |

Awesome Song. I've been listening to the band a lot more recently. I don't know.. I think the thing about a girl is a bit of a stetch.
"Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountian that is pouring like an avalanche, coming down the mountain"
I think this says that Life is a giant and unstoppable force and that it's easier to be dead then to live the struggles of life. |

Definitely caught my ear when i first heard it. Love the drum and bass instrumental portion nearing the end. Great song to night drive in the rain to. Definitely a great song to represent Shadow. I'm suprised he hasn't gotten more recognition. Not too sure about the lyrics or their meaning but from the other songs I've heard by him, I think it's just a great use of abstracts. Perhaps something that ties in to the "Motorway" theme? |

| Radiohead – Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd cover) Lyrics

Radiohead pulled it off pretty well. Pink Floyd is still my favorite and all time greatest band but Radiohead does the song justice. From me, that's saying a lot, as I am a huge fan of Pink Floyd and all of their work. Any jaded fan would spit in the face of any artist who even attempted a cover of such briliance.
Given the true meaning of the sone (Being about the loss of Syd Barett) I don't know if it's right for it to be disected by Radiohead fans, but either way, It's delivery is entirely diferent. Not enough desperation, but I don't think anything can match to the original. |

hmm- might sound bizarre, but my first impressions had to do with 'molly' who has created her innocent image, but when she is all alone, masturbation.. it feels great to be a liar. Am I the only one who made that connection? |

| A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics

This song has factual meaning, from maynard's point of view, and then we all have our views on it. I personally was a big fan of this song several years ago, then, tragically, somebody i knew from school died. The monday we came back to school, everybody heard the news, and at lunch, this song was played over the intercom. R.I.P David Savage. :'(
Ever since then, This song has had a strange feel attached to it. I can't put my finger on what it is i feel. Hmm, Strangely I'm a libra.. perhaps that has something to do with it? It brings me down a bit, but then again, i kinda enjoy it. I love it when music makes me feel alive, for better or worse. Thanks to all of you who put in time with your views. |

| Dire Straits – Brothers In Arms Lyrics

This song is incredible, agreed. There is nothing quite like the sound of a mastered guitar. A very powerful song, it definitely provokes thoughts about war. Everybody knows that was is stupid and that it's over stupid things, but we still fight eachother. We are all fools, we are the only beings that will kil our brothers for our selfish WANTS. It's disgusting, but in the way the song is delivered, it all seems to make sense. It doesn't matter what war it is, War is War. We are weak because we can't embrace our differences as humans. Musical Masterpiece, incredible levels of emtion attached. Even without the lyrics, the song would be beautiful, even without the guitar, the lyrics would be beautiful. The combination of the 2 meld to create musical bliss. Definitely the best of Dire Straits, This song makes it in Top 3 of my favorites of all time-This coming from a 16 year-old. :) How refreshing when music has meaning and talent.. everything today's music fails to offer... |

No comments?? This song is awesome! It was the first atmosphere song I ever listened to while I was driving with my older brother. I think the lyrics are incredible. I can't imagine how Slug writes such excelent song lyrics!
Genius:
"I'd Break From a Nervous Breakdown For Breakfast."
I'm going to use that line a little more often :) |

| Atmosphere – Trying To Find A Balance Lyrics

incorrect, It's instinct and "sense". Having:
"Because they make most of they moves off of instinct and -sex-
It's eat, sleep, -fuck- in self defense"
The words "Sex" and "Fuck" would be redundent. It's ok, I used to think it was sex too, but "Sense" makes so much more sense in the context :p "Instinct and Sense" is basically how we base all our actions.
Besides that, I heard this song on Loveline and the next day became a major fan of atmosphere. I had all the music, but hadn't listened to it all religously until this song :) |

| Atmosphere – The Woman with the Tattooed Hands Lyrics

I can play the last verse in my mind all day without getting sick of it :p A very thought-provoking song. Whether Slug was high or not, the message is still the same. Who are we to even think we can fathom or interpret god? The woman with tattooed hands represents the hardcore bible thumper who thinks they know everything about heaven and hell. By their own delerius ideas, they isolate themselves from others (in this case, men) That's off the top of my head, though it makes sense to me.
