Unfortunately, as an adverse side effect, we find that, due to how quickly information spreads, many things are frequently outdated, such as technology or language. Modern colloquialisms quickly change with word of mouth, so it becomes harder for the human brain to adapt to these advancements in language. Technology is frequently outdated, making it dangerous to work on technology lest it no longer have a use, making it so that technology can only be advanced by people with a lot of money who can take the risk. There are many other adverse effects as a result of the improvement of media, but I couldn't go into all of 'em, particularly since I don't know that much on the subject myself.
