The way I hear this song, the singer is depressed over a failed relationship and ends up staying home all the time feeling sorry for himself hoping that she'll call him back. By doing so he alienates all his friends he had. He knows he should do something to change but is unable to do so. Eventually he takes his own life. Hard to express how I feel about this song in words, but it is a powerful song like many of Caroline's Spine's songs and a reason why this band is so great yet underrated.
