I would hazard a guess that the song is about wanting to escape from life's sometimes harsh realities, which is suggested by "Monday morning: Hesitate, I can't get out of bed," (dreading going to work) and "I'm running from this empty life." (in need of fulfillment).
The lyrics that reads: "Slow down,...It's all in your head!" seems to be an antogonist's voice, someone who is part of the problem, someone who only compounds the need for escape. And the fact that this person is telling them to go home, suggests that home is the very place he's trying to escape from. It's too late for him to run away from his responsibilities now though and so his only means of "escape" is through his dreams. And so he "Rides on,..." seeking happiness and fulfillment in his dreams.
The song seems to speak to everyone, as we all seek to escape from our realities at some time or another.
I don't normally appreciate drums that much, but I really like the drumwork during the chorus of this song, because it reminds me of a horse galloping, which seems appropriate as the singer sings "Ride on..."
