"It's Too Late" as written by and Carole/stern King....
Monday morning: Hesitate, I can't get out of bed
I'd rather go back to the dreams I'm living in my head
Tuesday evening: Pack my bags, I'm heading out the door
I left a box of memories lying on the floor

Ride on, ride till early morning sun
Ride on, like the dawning of the day
It's too late, to let all your feelings show
Go on, til the night is swept away

I'm running from the city lights
I'm running from this empty life
I'm running out of time tonight
I'm screaming out for "Help! Help!"

"Slow down, your moving too fast
Go home, you'll feel better for it
Oh boy, you better stop dreaming
It's all in your head!"

'Cause it's too late now

Ride on, ride till early morning sun
Ride on, like the dawning of the day
It's too late, to let all your feelings show
Go on, til the night is swept away

Ride on, ride till early morning sun
Ride on, like the morning of the day
It's too late, to let all your feelings show
Ride on, til the night is swept away

General CommentI really like this song.. Seems to calm me down and chill me out everytime i hear it...

To me this song is talking about how you need a fresh start, running away and getting a new begining..
Although in the end, maybe thats not the best option....

General CommentI think this song is about running away from something, and trying to forget about an experience. I think everyone goes through that - whether it's something that's hurt you, or embarrassed you, you just wanna get away from it and forget everything.

General CommentI would hazard a guess that the song is about wanting to escape from life's sometimes harsh realities, which is suggested by "Monday morning: Hesitate, I can't get out of bed," (dreading going to work) and "I'm running from this empty life." (in need of fulfillment).

The lyrics that reads: "Slow down,...It's all in your head!" seems to be an antogonist's voice, someone who is part of the problem, someone who only compounds the need for escape. And the fact that this person is telling them to go home, suggests that home is the very place he's trying to escape from. It's too late for him to run away from his responsibilities now though and so his only means of "escape" is through his dreams. And so he "Rides on,..." seeking happiness and fulfillment in his dreams.

The song seems to speak to everyone, as we all seek to escape from our realities at some time or another.

I don't normally appreciate drums that much, but I really like the drumwork during the chorus of this song, because it reminds me of a horse galloping, which seems appropriate as the singer sings "Ride on..."

    Awesome song.

It took me ages to figure out who sung it. I bought the album which is awesome, and this is the best song on it. Such a realxing beautiful number to listen to.
