To me it's about being in love with a girl who does not love you back and you've had a fight with her about that for some time ago for what she still hasn't forgiven you. She ignores you but you try to get back to her: building a bridge. She doesn't fit with you (but who does?) so even if you do get a relationship it won't last for long, but it would be worth it. If you never get it, so be it but you won't give up.
