about a kid maybe who wakes up late, and his parents are in his room discussing his punishment.

broke all their blood pumping mechanisms
so you stand in front of the polished sand
wondering what will become of you and them "
Last night the kid did something bad and broke the parents' hearts, and he is approaching his parents wondering what they will say.

burn them like you did the rest
they are dead
one step in front of the other "
That the parents are scared about that they are gonna say. But i dont get the second part, because it makes it seem like he killed his parents.

you rehearsed your words so many times
say it like you mean it

As he makes his way to them he thnks about what hes gonna say, and to say it like he means it. and that the parents always yell..
