Sounds Like The End Of The World Lyrics

so you've opened your eyes too late in the day
they wait for you in the room
you know they are having converstaions of punishment
last night you lost control
broke all their blood pumping mechanisms
so you stand in front of the polished sand
wondering what will become of you and them
they are scared
burn them like you did the rest
they are dead
one step in front of the other
you make your way to them
you rehearsed your words so many times
say it like you mean it
you always yell

this song confuses me, maybe its about a boy who had a fight last night with his parents and he's waking up the next day prepared to get a punishment and while going out to met them he is already thinking yelling to them... smthing like that..i supose

I think this is somehwat of what loudbliss said. Let me try to break it down.

"so you've opened your eyes too late in the day they wait for you in the room you know they are having converstaions of punishment " about a kid maybe who wakes up late, and his parents are in his room discussing his punishment.

"last night you lost control broke all their blood pumping mechanisms so you stand in front of the polished sand wondering what will become of you and them " Last night the kid did something bad and broke the parents' hearts, and he is approaching his parents wondering what they will say.

" they are scared burn them like you did the rest they are dead one step in front of the other " That the parents are scared about that they are gonna say. But i dont get the second part, because it makes it seem like he killed his parents.

"you make your way to them you rehearsed your words so many times say it like you mean it you always yell " As he makes his way to them he thnks about what hes gonna say, and to say it like he means it. and that the parents always yell..

Thats just my opinion, im not sure, and im probably wrong

this song confused me when i first heard it...i have an idea (albeit a longshot of an idea) as to what it's about...i think it could be about a kid who is incredibly misunderstood and seen as the rest of the world as "disturbed"...and either he did something really bad or wants to...kinda like the whole columbine thing...and the parents understand that they need to deal with it but they're afraid of him, because he is seen to be disturbed or psychotic or something...but on a broader scale the song could be just about kids in general, and how today they are seen as freaks and disturbed by their parents when they just want to be left alone, and their parents yell at them for "being bad" even though they are afraid of their own children, and the kids are confused and hurt by their parents being afraid of them when in their mind there's no reason for that...i think this is the message ptw was trying to get across but maybe just by using an extreme example?

this song to me sounds like he got in a terrible fight with his parents. he comes home late and his parents are waiting in his room, waiting to punish him. then he reflects back to what he did. "last night you lost control broke all their blood pumping mechanisms". then it talks about him trying to confront them about it but nothing gets accomplished because there is so much anger. "you rehearsed your words so many times say it like you mean it you always yell"

im not really sure. that's what i think.

I always thought it was about killing people, or feeling misunderstood

or killing people because you didn't think they understood you

o.k. to me i think he is talking about realizing what he does is considered a sin in the Christian religion... and by the time he realizes they think its a sin (God and the angels) it's to late, they are already discussing his punishment, what he does that they think is wrong his his music (you know how those right wing conservatives are "that screaming music is the devil") "last night you lost control broke all their blood pumping mechanisms" this is talking about a concert i believe and how his lyrics are touch and has the ability to break hearts (it is emo by the way)and he realizes what he does isn't bad and the people are ignorant so he rehearses what he will say when he enters the "room", and he tells them "you always yell"...this really asurred me that this is what he is talking about, because southern baptists preachers scream their lungs out at you and slobber and everything else, this song is talking about Christians being hypicrits

I love the harmony that is underneath his screaming vocals. Who would have thought that a screamer band could make a song this beautiful?

This song is about the whole thing where parents who yell and scream at thier kids, and then thier kids will yeal and scream jsut like they do.

In this song I think a kid realizes one morning that he did something really bad, and his first instinct as an adult is to yell back, he yells and screams back at them, it btreaks his parents hearts, and he realizes that he is turning into them and the awkwardness between them the next morning..

i'm pretty sure it isn't about a kid & parents. this song seems a lot deeper than that. that is a little too juvenile. i think the-orange-i-choked is right.
