actually everyone, when laynewasa child, he made little sculptures. he madea mall child(layne) sitting in a chair. the song is bout how he sees this self sculpture, but instead of seeing good little layne, now he sees how hes grown up and how heroin is ruining his life. thats why he sees himself across the way, lol. and its obviously about drug adiction because even though hes saying howit ade him alone and angry, he still doesnt mindbecause hes truly not helping himself stop in anyway. the love/hate relationship w/ drug addiction. anyone whos not a drug addict or an addict in some way will never fully understand alice in chains.
