the scene isnt dead you could say, more or less its just a little too popular and no one wants to be in on it. i stand by minor threat, varukers, exploited, GBH, supersuckers and the likes in hope that something will come up eventually making it like it was during the 80's when the scene was considered dead by all the people who didnt know about the punks vs. skins fights twice a week at the GBH-like shows. oh how i wish i was alive then, it would have been so much cooler than this 'punk scene' that is no more than a bunch of kids now. i cant say im not one of them because im only 15, but later, i hope there will be a revival, and we will be at the head of it. i agree that leather jackets, plaid pants and multi colored mohawks, liberty spikes or a combonation of the two have been overused and worn, but now, the punk revival will begin, during the height of the 'punk trend' the scene has never been more dead. there may be a revival, there may be a different occourance all together, but the punk ideal lives on, the longing for a simple lifestyle of eating, sleeping, going to work and playing music as a interwoven society and subculture instead of judgement and 'categories' of the music we all love. unity can be reached, and unity will be reached, but now when there are a million bands that everyone knows and a million more that are yet undiscovered, there is too much focus on 'punk' in general. punk will not take people by storm, but it will gain followers slowly and steadily in cities where the true believers in the music, unity, and the dedication for change will appeal to all, but it has to be searched for.
@H2OGOPunx you dont understand that old punks rot the scene from inside out and punks need something new not to look back a reminisce but keep going forward and make something change
