i'm a white kid who listens to punk, so pardon my ignorance. This song is about fighting racism, hate, poverty and finding unity... correct? well then why would someone say they love this song so much, feel it and say they work for a change when theyre still a member of a gang. i mean, it doesnt make sense, who cares about what side of town youre from? why does that give a reason to shoot eachother? isnt that against the idea of unity? i think it is. also, the chorus is a cover, its not his original. Im not saying its bad, its just not been mentioned. i think it was Bruce Hornsby, but dont quote me on it.
I dont mind rap that talks about real issues, and not drugs and girls and sex and platinum and cars. let me rephrase that. I respect the rap thats about real issues. well, practice the concept, i will too. |

okay, avril lavigne is not punk, just because she looks like she went in to hot topic and had a few bucks doesnt make her punk. people say shes the first punk girl in the scene, well, there is no scene, for one thing. i dont know what all of you know about punk music but there are a few girl bands out there that are punk, not pop punk(eyeliners) but actually punk. check out devotchkas, tsunami bomb, the distillers just to name a few. |

i think that bad religion and dead kennedys are the same as the unseen and anti flag, they have their views, and they sing about them. bad religion is maybe worse than all the others in that aspect, because a lot of their songs are about how religion is not right. i dont believe that. think for yourself, thats good. if you choose to believe what the unseen thinks, go for it. i chose to be a christian, but im still thinking for myself, its my choice, i believe what i iwant to believe, and not what some band tells me is true, but if they say something that i agree with, i will agree with it. check out false hope by the unseen, its true. |

the first time i heard this song, i was on my way to my first REAL punk show (H2O, Madcap, Authority Zero, 800 Octane) in Portland, and i immediately fell in love with the song. even after seeing my favorite band live, all i could do was sing this song. its such a wonderful song, and i can still listen to it constantly even though i first heard it 2 years ago. |
