I can completely relate to this song.
My ex boyfriend fits this song completely. We were together for about a year. In the beginning he was much more wrapped up in the relationship than I was. He was very sentimental, more than I ever was, would write me love poems and all the mushy crap. His friends said I had him "whipped" when in reality it was their jealousy and immaturity talking and the fact that they had no lives. Anyway, the relationship ended quite harshly and we hold extremely hostile feelings towards each other to this day. I can't believe that when I look at him now, he is the same person who used to write me poetry and the same guy who'd tell me he'd love me forever. He tries so hard to be this badass person I know he is not. People don't change, especially not that drastically. We were kids and it was each our first real love, so we didn't have much experience, but thats when it hurts the most.
