This is like a theme for me. I have a punk friend. We eat lunch together and some Radiohead song comes on the student radio station. He goes "what the fuck is this," I say "it's Radiohead, they suck but this song is OK." He says "and you call yourself a punk." The fact is I have never proclaimed to be a punk. I love punk rock and have a hooded sweatshirt covered with band patches but do the clothes make you a punk? I hate the stupid punk rock rule book where, to be punk you must listen to punk exclusivly. And I thought punk was about going by your own rules. Punk is dead folks, get over it. Punk rock is still great though.
EXACTLY! I believe in anarchy, and a punk's idea of small independent labels and I believe in that shit, I came to punk for that reason, not for any other. I love the music, but that's different. I like a lot of shit, I like some rap even. More underground shit though, like leak bros or cage, ill bill. Who says you have to only listen to punk? Who says you have to dress like one, I have a green jacket with like 3 band patches, and that's it, granted I wish to get a few more articles of clothing...

It probably doesn't even matter to you anymore, because this was in 2003 (I don't think we even had the internet at 2003) all I know is I love punk, and hate that everyone fights over what is and isn't punk when we should just be unified. Hell I'm a catholic.
