Not trying to be disrespectful, but i totally disagree. Here's what i really think the song means. He talks about conforming and becoming just like everyone in a perhaps commerical and homogenious society.
"Welcome a whole new pain/ and take comfort in what you've become." The pain is giving up parts of yourself and taking comfort in what you've become could mean take comfort for you are right in the eyes of society.
"I have arrived so unashamed but my reflection no longer seems the same.
It seems much dimmer now... it seems so dim"
He feels he is losing much of himself, his reflection is dimmed because he is no longer entirely there.
"Just stumble and fall into a world that's over crowded."
I think that supports it the most: Just fall into the society and culture.
And you will find me.
Won't recognize me;
and I won't recognize myself.
This means that he is not entirely himself.
I've arrived so unashamed,
but all my senses no longer seem the same.
I can sense everything.
My sight's so clear.
Ok I suppose this could be talk of vampires, but i really doubt it. THe way I read it is he now understands what drives people and why so many are how they are.
In an instant,, my life just slipped away,
I fought for life, the whole time you were holding me down.
You watched me dying.
Holding me down, you brought my rebirth.
He fought to be something else but his fate was inevitable and he has become reborn.
I dont know if this is right, the only person who does is Davey. I just dont see at all how it could be about vampires.

Maybe its about what you are saying but he is using vampires as allegory for capitalist society.
