I agree... it's such a good song. I think it's about a guy who lost his girlfriend/whatever and she had so much of an effect on him that his world is really messed up now... he just cant get over the fact she's gone, even though she's royally f*cked him over (the whole first verse).
Maybe he's the one who messed up? In the first verse, it does say, "he's a winner, he's a goddamn sinner." Sounds sarcastic with more emphasis on "sinner."
