Come on, motherfucker. Put your clothes on, come on
You lousy puke
Fuck you!!!
Why don't you call your mommy?
You're a fucking drunk !!!
Yeah, I'm a fucking drunk !!!
Come on, motherfucker !!!
But you're a lousy lowlife who can't do nothin' for himself
Acid casualty with a repossessed car
Vietnam vet playin' air guitar
It's just the shit-kickin', speed-takin'
Truck-drivin' neighbors downstairs
Yeah...yeah
Whiskey-stained buck-toothed backwoods creep
Grizzly bear motherfucker never goes to sleep
It's just the shit-kickin', speed-takin'
Truck-drivin' neighbors downstairs
Oh, yeah...yeah
Belly floppin' naked in a pool of yellow sweat
Screamin' jackass with a wet cigarette
It's just the shit-kickin', speed-takin'
Truck-drivin' neighbors downstairs
Oh
Oh, my goodness
Oh...
Mmm...
Psychotic breakdown double-edged axe
Growin' hair like a shag rug on his greasy back
It's just the shit-kickin', speed-takin'
Truck-drivin' neighbors downstairs
Oh my goodness
Oh my goodness
Oh, yeah
Come on, honey, feel the grease
Grease, grease
Come on, honey, feel the grease
Oh, my goodness
Come on, honey, feel the grease
Oh yeah
Come on, lay it on me
Bring it down one more time
Come on, honey...

"oh my goodness" fits in perfectly, and it's in Beercan also. Mellow Gold is a great album.

I agree, Subterranean... this is a wonderful song, and, like much of Beck's writing, based on true life. The bit at the start is an actual recording of the lowlifes next to whom he was living...

When he screams, he sounds like Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin.

as good as this song is, it makes me sad. Seeing as how are society places a strong emphasis on possessions and things in general, these are stereotypical of the folk we entrust our stuff with. also, they make highways and interstates REAL fun.

    My Interpretation

I would have to guess that he was living in a shitty apartment somewhere. I lived in a similar shitty apartment. We had two shootings, a beating, and an incident with pipebombs, being placed on top of my apartment but some stupid meth-heads.. they remind me of the neighbors that were screaming at each other. As for this song, even after those experiences I still laugh at it..

I am not quite sure where a couple of you are coming from, with your ideas.. but LMAO.

Anybody notice, it may be transposed, I’m not sure, but the tune sounds a LOT like ‘Tales Of Brave Ulysses’. I’m guessing Beck has heard a lot of Cream.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
