I cannot say that I don't care cause I'm aware
Of everyone and everything they're everywhere

Don't be a fool
Stop spinning around
(Spinning around)
You're right it ain't safe here
Start using your brain, your brain

The cautious hare cannot be seen as a coward
He's simply aware
(He constantly) knows what's going on
That the wheel of life turns on
It won't hold on

Silent creature, filthy teacher's
Spreading the disease, a release
A vanished kingdom falls

It goes on, on and on and again
It goes on, round and round
Oh I can't get it out of my head

Wish I'd be a bird of prey
A pure and a blessed
A hawk who could ease the pain

Don't look back tell me
Is it where you belong
A place in the dark
A song without hope
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
Oh I wait for an answer so far
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
I will wait for an answer so far
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
I will wait yes I will wait
Don't look back

We're the last descendants
In the line of valiant soldiers
We're mistreated angels
We are the blackbird nation, we're the chosen ones
We're the last descendants
We're the tribe of unsung glory
We are the fallen angels
Well the time is right you shall be on my (side)

I don't I don't I don't need anyone
Be with or be against me
I'm white I am chosen
There is not the slightest doubt at all
Not at all

In lower airs we're ground down by their ignorance

Hate will grow like a foul cancer
To find a foe seems to be the answer
Round and round it goes on and again oh
I can't get it out of my head

Wish I'd be a bird of prey
A pure and a blessed
A hawk who could ease the pain

Don't look back tell me
Is it where you belong
A place in the dark
A song without hope
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
Oh I wait for an answer so far
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
I will wait for an answer so far
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
I will wait yes I will wait
Don't look back

Don't be a fool
Stop spinning around
(Spinning around)
Don't move it ain't safe here
They've stained holy grounds
Oh no

The hopeful he sadly admits there's no hero
No place to hide there is no shelter from the storm
The maddened crow will spread terror
But I know bitterly they will stumble
Find themselves smashed on the ground

Don't look back tell me
Is it where you belong
A place in the dark
A song without hope
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
Oh I wait for an answer so far
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
I will wait for an answer so far
Don't look back tell me
Is it where you (belong)
I will wait yes I will wait
Don't look back

It's you who has said there's no tomorrow
I don't know but who I am
I wouldn't sit back any longer
It's surely built in sadness
But the sadness surely will go by
So we will all know the answer
The answer's within, it's in your mind

@Nyarla "Don't look back tell me Is it where you belong A place in the dark A song without hope" - Clearly speaks of Guts. Where the supernatural side of their world describes him, and his life.

"We're the last descendants In the line of valiant soldiers We're mistreated angels We are the blackbird nation, we're the chosen ones We're the last descendants We're the tribe of unsung glory We are the fallen angels Well the time is right you shall be on my (side)"

    • Speaks of how their mercenary band were powerful enough to be a nation unto itself. With how wars turned with their favor. And how the were betrayed by the nation they saved.

"I don't I don't I don't need anyone Be with or be against me I'm white I am chosen There is not the slightest doubt at all Not at all" -Speaks of how Griffith refused to grow close to anyone. And was willing to sacrifice anyone, or anything for his dream.

"In lower airs we're ground down by their ignorance" -Speaks of how the masses condemned them on the words of those in positions of authority. And in their ignorance spurned those who had saved them. Both when the kingdom betrayed them, and later when Griffith took over.

"Hate will grow like a foul cancer To find a foe seems to be the answer Round and round it goes on and again oh I can't get it out of my head" -This speaks both of how of how rage was consuming Guts, both literally(his berserker armor) and figuratively. And how rage(or just dark emotions in general) affects the supernatural side of their world, creating and strengthening monsters in the shadows.

"Wish I'd be a bird of prey A pure and a blessed A hawk who could ease the pain" -Speaks of Griffith's original dream from before his mother died when he was a child. Of wanting to be the ruler of his own kingdom, to fix the many issues he saw in theirs. Something he later sacrifices of both himself and others endlessly to try and achieve. Eventually both succeeding and failing, sacrificing who he was(literally), to achieve it. Becoming a monster in most every way.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
