This song tells the story of my love for another, it was such a sweet ride, but I never made it far enough to get to my destination. I'm still hanging on, waiting for that smile, so I can let go.
Crow wrote this song while producing Trouble in Shangri-La for Stevie Nicks. It is based on Stevie's relationship with Lindsey Buckingham. the line "passing round the candlight" references both Candlebright and Sorcerer on this album, which were written in the early 70's when Nicks and Buckingham were still a couple.
This is an incredibly beautiful song. Sheryl's vocals are both vulnerable and lush. One of her best!
