i'm guessing this song is about the affect war has on people who are sent into combat, and the depression and trauma a young person suffers through thereafter, the alcohol references may be a result of how people deal with this stress by drinking and possibly becoming an alcoholic constantly replaying memories in their head and maybe having thoughts of suicide

the lyrics are wrong.. if you would have bought the GJ cd, you could have looked at the lyrics that come on the cd, and they go as follows:

Maybe this is just the obvious meaning and I'm not looking deep enough, cause the title of the song doesnt really support my idea of what it means, but here goes.

This song's about the brutality of war...The narrator is a soldier and he doesnt want to fight anymore (hence "Not throwing stones at you anymore. Your name your lies, and i don't wonder anymore."). He was trained with "sims that don't hit back" and now that he's seeing actual people die first hand he no longer wants to fight. Actually, now that he sees it, he wants to die himself (die like fucking mice do) showing how the soldier is just a pawn and useless like a mouse. At the end he just sees bloodshed and says "shoot me".

everyone is being misled because of the title...i think this is more a political/war song than an anti drug song...i dunno if someone said this allready cause im not gunna read every post

i think this song is purposely the opening track on worship and tribute because it deals directly with the girl that daryl wrote most of EYEWTKAS about and is sort of the final chapter in that whole ordeal. This is the girl that I guess broke up with him when he was in the hospital with Crones disease. She was a total lush so I think Daryl is using a bar to sort of represent the idea of her and you tip your bartender as you're leaving the bar. That and the chorus "I'm not throwing stones at you anymore" all leads me to think he's not going to let the memories of her bother him anymore. He won't forgive her but he won't let it fuck with him anymore. He's moving on.

i'd bet it's about the girl from eyewtkas, how he could write another angst-filled cd that just ripped her apart and people would love it, but he's done with that because it didn't make him happy. "this is why i hang myself with jealousy upon a fence post half mast", he's still jealous and not happy about the situation. "fasion: war between the guilty and the guilty and the teen", she's guilty because she screwed him over, he's guilty because he wrote the last cd, and the teen is, well us because we ate it up.

i also thought it was interesting that there are some old country song references... "all my exes live with hexes" "i'm crying in the beer of a drunk man". all my exes live in texas and there's a tear in my beer. i dunno if it's intentional or if there's more too.

to me, it sounds like we should really consider EVERYTHING that EVERYONE does; ex. "tip your bartender". be grateful for whatever we consume, for all the trendy folks, be grateful there's child labor to make your expensive clothing, and for the soldiers risking their lives everyday, inactive or not.

I think this song is about people w/ alcohol or any drug addiction problems, The part about sobering up and the chours is like him sayin im sick of argueing with you about this and im just gonna let you fall into this cause obviously your not letting me help
