My Funeral Party Lyrics
This could be the day I go
I know you think it's crazy
But I can feel it in my bones
The way the cars and people move
Slow and stop all up and down my block
I can almost hear the trumpets sound
I wish all my friends could be here now
To see these tables turning
That man waiting at the station
Could be an angel sent to whisk me away
The way his coat hangs funny on his back
I bet he hides his wings under there
I can almost hear the trumpets sound
I wish all my friends could be here now
To see these tables turning
If I could change one thing about myself
I would not take it all so seriously
I know you think it's crazy
But I can feel it in my bones
The way the cars and people move
Slow and stop all up and down my block
I can almost hear the trumpets sound
I wish all my friends could be here now
To see these tables turning
That man waiting at the station
Could be an angel sent to whisk me away
The way his coat hangs funny on his back
I bet he hides his wings under there
I can almost hear the trumpets sound
I wish all my friends could be here now
To see these tables turning
If I could change one thing about myself
I would not take it all so seriously

Unless there is some deeper meaning, I feel like this song is about the kind of day when you just feel crappy...and really really wierded out like your going to die...death day or whatever. lol I feel like I'm just stating the obvious. I really really like the last line, about not taking things so seriously. And I like how it's a wish..because honestly, people like myself can't just stop taking things seriously. It's just, a damn part of me. The music in the song is pretty sweet too....but I just really like it lyrically....
i agree with Mike Rotchh. it's a day you feel way depressed to continue, then you start thinking about your funeral. a sad song, but i see a lot of hope in this. like his funeral will be so beautiful and he will be free..
and about the last line, i keep wondering if it's like "if i could change one thing about myself that i don't like that much, i would change and wouldn't take things so seriously", or "if i could change one thing one myself, i would choose for not taking things so seriously"
