(Just Like) Starting Over Lyrics

Our life together is so precious together
We have grown, we have grown
Although our love is still special
Let's take a chance and fly away somewhere alone

It's been too long since we took the time
No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly
But when I see you darling
It's like we both are falling in love again
It'll be just like starting over, starting over

Everyday we used to make it love
Why can't we be making love nice and easy
It's time to spread our wings and fly
Don't let another day go by my love
It'll be just like starting over, starting over

Why don't we take off alone
Take a trip somewhere far, far away
We'll be together all alone again
Like we used to in the early days
Well, well, well darling

It's been too long since we took the time
No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly
But when I see you darling
It's like we both are falling in love again
It'll be just like starting over, starting over

Our life together is so precious together
We have grown, we have grown
Although our love is still special
Let's take a chance and fly away somewhere

It’s time spread our WINGS and fly don’t let ANOTHER DAY go by MY LOVE

Clearly pointed at Paul

@Ajgindi4205 I wondered if someone would mention this. There is mention of their Paris trip in the early days. John does a bit of Elvis on"Its been too long since we took the time".

@Ajgindi4205 And "Early Days" Is on Paul\'s record which reflects on their relationship. \r\n\r\nDidn\'t think of the Paris hitchhiking, good call.

It's about John messing something up in his relationship w/ Yoko and saying that they should just start over.

Yeah, John wrote this song about his renewed relationship with Yoko, and Yoko wrote "Hard Times are Over"... they seemed so happy and hopeful but that didn't last long. Extremely poignant.

First off I wanna say that I absoultley love this song. One thing that I have come to realize about any (and every) john lennon or beatles love song is that you can really like a certaint love song and it'll be just another good love song to you. But if your'e actually in love and hear their songs, it hits you so much harder and has more meaning to you.

that's how I was with this song. I always liked it, but when I got into this serious relationship that im in, I heard it and now I have to listen to it at lease once a day.

His lyrics are so romantic. They make you feel feelings that you've had, but never realized untill hearing him sing it. For me it was "But when I see you darling It's like we both are falling in love again"

That lyric is so strong. and if your'e truly in love with someone (like I am) then you know how much it can get to you.

Overall this song is john writing out his love for yoko. when he says "Everyday we used to make it love, Why can't we be making love nice and easy" I always saw that as like their relationship was on the verge of going really bad, and he's just saying (in other words) we used to have it so good. what happend? Let's bring back thoes good times.

And the overall message in this song (as it is in many other lennon songs) is that he loves Yoko, and she means the whole wide world to him. That message itself make me love this song so much. But I also relate to these lyrics a lot, and that also makes me like it even more. and that's why this song will be my wedding song.

p.s. the bass line in this song is really catchy andfun to play.

Romantic. What a good idea for a weeding song.I"m going to put this on my mix to my boyfriend.

So ironic and poignant that he released this and then some maniac shot him.

The song is about Lennon telling the other Beatles "let's get back together, it'll be just like starting over!"

Just like Sexy Sadie wasn't about someone named Sadie, Lennon is using a coded message to the Beatles here.

this isnt about him and yoko. its about him finding his love for music again after he left the beatles.

I loved this when it came out as for me it, Woman and Beautiful Boy were his best songs since the Imagine LP. Now it is ironic and so sad. I would have thought it was about Yoko but it coincided with him restarting his career. Spookily now it is just playing on my JL playlist
