Damn you
Stay away from me
I got a disease
Everyone is sleeping

I hate you
For putting hate in me
For putting faith in me
Everyone is sleeping

Everyone is sleeping
Everyone is sleeping
Everyone is sleeping…

    My Interpretation

To me this song seems to be an amalgamation of physical and mental exhaustion of a visionary and rational person before the dumb and stupid society we live in, people hate the artist for this cause, because they argument, criticize, break paradigms in general. Another interesting factor is the massive repetition of "everyone is slepping," it is the human condition to pretend to be alive, pretend to care about things, everyone is asleep mentally to the problems and situations, the singer repeats that several times emphatically and when the song ends, it ends with the impression of the population continue to sleep before the problems forever.

This is prolly the worst meaning, but I am just going to say it anyways, cuz im bored and I actually belive it to be true.

I think that this is a song about a soldier talking to GOD, his god. Most of the wars in the world have been because of religion, an example is the Armenian Genocide, the Turkish Goverment wanted an Empire with one religion and one language. (check the lyrics for PLUCK and find out what im talking about) .

"Stay away from me, I got a disease" - OK, so this soldier is saying to people, to stay away from him because he has a disease (duh). The disease is that he only wants to live with one religion, he belives in it so much that he thinks everyone that doesnt belive in it is an enemy.

"Fuck you" - Directed to his god.

"For putting hate in me" - for making him belive in it (religion, idea) so much that he killed for it.

"For putting faith into me" - For making him believe something. Suicide bombers for example believe that if they blow themselves up, they will go to heaven and their parents and everyone would be taken care of.

"Everyone is sleeping" - Everyone dead. After this solider kills everyone that he thinks is an enemy, he realizes that it dident make his life any better and realizes what hes done.

Well, i hope you understand what the hell I am talking about.

It's actually both Serj & Daron singing at the same time, so it comes off sounding weird. It was an unreleased demo (the same one with Blue on it)

i believe it is about a disturbed boy/girl, victim to the downs of society. he/she is looking back on everything. he/she was socially shunned because of a disease, or in reality, unpopularity, which can be just as shunful as a disease. he/she is saying fuck you to all those whom have hurt him. those who installed hate within him due to the teasing or ostrisizing and to the ones who gave him faith in society, that the system would change.... and when it didn't everyone was sleeping, because he killed them.... sorta a twist on the columbine stuff....

My perception on this song is somewhat different than foreign man's.

All of you Get away from me I got a disease Everyone is sleeping...

The person singing the song (not nessescarily the singers) has a disease (AIDS/HIV?) so he/she is telling them to get away or else they'll get it too. Perhaps the "everyone is/was sleeping" means is about how the storyteller is awake when everyone is sleeping or they're away/safe from the disease.

Fuck you for putting hate in me For putting faith in me Everyone is sleeping

These are emotions. The hate is towards the person that gave him the disease. But during the time of the person co-operating with the disease, they gain faith in things around them.

    Everyone is sleeping x3

No significance? or the same significance as above... just stating them...

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
