M'aidez Lyrics

M'aidez, throw aways, some things here have got to stay
A string of pearls, the strangest girl is happy when the western world

Painless Chinese burns
Ties me down with daisy chains
Diamonds on her tongue
And pleasure cuts and teasing

M'aidez this is my m'aidez
Open charms are lost on velvet
M'aidez this my m'aidez, m'aidez

Dead songs, half way homes, still life lived on mobile phones
But the girl had wings and precious things
Under sheets with tangled limbs

Wide awake at dawn
The sun won't choose to shine on
Silence says it all
And reaching up and blessing

M'aidez this is my m'aidez
Open charms are lost on velvet
M'aidez this my m'aidez, m'aidez, m'aidez

M'aidez this is my m'aidez
Open charms are lost on velvet
M'aidez this my m'aidez, m'aidez

The higher we climb the smaller we seem, mad with possibilities
No design, zig-zag girl is happy with the western world

Painless Chinese burns
Ties me down with daisy chains
Diamonds on her tongue
And pleasure cuts and teasing

M'aidez this is my m'aidez
Open charms are lost on velvet
M'aidez this my m'aidez, m'aidez, m'aidez

M'aidez this is my m'aidez
Open charms are lost on velvet
M'aidez this my m'aidez, m'aidez, m'aidez

M'aidez, m'aidez, m'aidez, m'aidez

I'm almost positive he's saying

"M'aidez, this is NO m'aidez."

Meaning that he doesn't want help. Kind of adding on to what Crispyone29 was saying - she's just keeping him along for fun. He's bittersweet about it - he wants her to love him, but he doesn't want to leave her. He doesn't want help, yet he so desperately does.

That's what I get from it.

...Second line is "A string of pearls, the strangest girl is happy WITH the western world."

It's a song about S&M sex, clearly, and the song is pretty literal.

Painless Chinese burns is heatplay, being tied down with "daisy chain" is rope (and how he sees rope as pleasant). "Diamonds on her tongue," she has tongue piercings. Pleasure cuts and teasing are exactly that.

The repetition in the chorus is simply that he feels he shouldn't enjoy it, but he does.

... Yeah, pretty clear to me.

this sums up the album concept -> Bloodsport and it's clearly a reference to S&M: cutting, bondage, teasing, pain and pleasure all along.

I just bought Bloodsport a week ago, and this is one of my favorite songs.

    M'aidez=french for "help me" (mayday).

I think the song is about a rich/spoilt/falling girl--the "highbrow" French, strings of pearls, diamonds on her tongue, etc. give it away. She has a boy she strings along with "pleasure cuts and teasing," but who knows her better than anyone. He sees that "the girl had wings and precious things under sheets with tangled limbs," i.e., her excess and ?infidelity? and/or lust. The singer won't leave her, though, since he loves her ("ties me down with daisy chains")...even though she does not love him, since his simple, "open charms are lost on velvet."

    My two cents anyway. :)

...slight change..."m'aidez" is how non-french-speakers say "help me"--not actually the correct way to ask for it. So, the girl is /pretending/ to be highbrow when she really doesn't know any better than her lover. :)

the correct lyric is definitely "no m'aidez" as opposed to "my m'aidez". it's clear as day in the acoustic version of the song on the "Loretta Young Silks" maxi-single.

i think the first line is "May days, throw aways..." because he pronounces the z sound at the end of the word. this would make sense considering i'm pretty sure the chorus is m'aidzez, this is no may day like a day in may which would be sweet and innocent, which being tied down and cut certainly are not

I agree that it's about him feeling torn between wanting the pleasure of being part of this erotic entanglement and also knowing that it is probably artificial love that he doesn't know if he wants to be a part of as it's not helpful to him. His references are very erotic, more so than most of the commentators have reference thus far, and allude to S&M and group sex. A "pearl necklace" is often innuendo for ejaculate around the neck and face. "Diamonds on her tongue" is then assumably alluding to semen as well. Daisy chains, in sex slang, refers to an oral orgy of sorts where each participant is performing fellatio or cunnilingus on the next person in the "chain"...so it's referencing that there are multiple participants at play (which is again referenced in the "under sheets with tangled limbs". Painless Chinese burns is alluding to heat play, and pleasure cuts are exactly what you'd think them to be. It's a very graphically erotic song if you get the references.
