I think its about him being addicted to heroin ("I'm a junkie") and about how he hates that he is, but it makes him not feel his 'pain' ("Hate to bleed but it heals my pain")

And the songname, is about how he's going to overdose, and go to heaven, and therefore be tripping with jesus

really, the uncensored explanation goes pretty well with silent antenna's explanation, my thought of the song is that he could care less about god & he'll get so messed up that jesus would be a hallucination, none of union underground's songs went for a "i gotta get better" mentallity, like drivel, the "its such a shame that it is this way, i'm a junkie and god is gay" part is obviously saying "i don't need god, he is a gay concept, it's a shame others don't see it this way, it is my favorite union underground song & i agree with it 100%
