Killing The Fly Lyrics

I'm sitting in a magic chair
Without Mary and I don't care
So far, so good is what I hear
Nothin' slows me down my dear
Sucking on it what a shame
Another, motherfucker drained
That's what you get I warned you all
Just add it up to my toll

I get a kick outta this
Watch you ball like a bitch
You'll get it you'll get it
You'll get yours motherfucker ain't no lie

I wanna break you
Get off the rocket ride man
I can't even fake it
I'll say it again
You're on a downward slide my friend

So I hear they call it killing the fly
I can't hear it I might be blind
That's what you get I warned you all
Just add it up to my toll

actually marijuana is addictive, people just don't notice it, I believe that this song is about drugs and how he doesn't do them anymore because he's lost the craving, but he looks around and sees others ruining their lives. To this he just laughs at them because he thinks he's better then them due to the fact that he could stop, and they can't. Practically making fun of people for their addiction.

Marijuana is not physically addictive, but it is mentally, much like cigarettes. It takes only 48 hours to become unaddicted to cigs, but mentally you may feel you need it the rest of your life. In any case, I agree it's about someone who kicked the habit, and is watching all his friends' lives be run by it. I myself have a bunch of friends like that, who used to be really intelligent, but shit-canned it because they love the feeling.

He isnt recovered from it. He's the dealer. "Just add it up, to my toooooooll". That's why he's getting dome from a junkie. He revels in their degradation" I get a kick out of this" because he thinks it elevates him by comparison. ,"watch you ball like a bitch" ( heroin addicts physically cry and weep when they are in withdrawl). Mary usually refers to refer, but the album is big on the needle drugs theme. Which can be referenced in "rocket ride". As the syringe.

Great song! Looks to me like this song is about marijuana addicts (Mary being Mary Jane) and about someone who was able to break out of the addiction and is now watching other addicts and trying to tell them that they're ruining their lives, but at the same time the reformed person is laughing at the stupidity of being addicted.

marijuana isn't addictive

marijuana ISN'T addictive. some people stupidly claim that if it wasn't addictive then people would stop, but they fail to realise that people do marijuana because they liked being stoned, not because they're addicted. sometimes dealers cut hash with addictive substances to keep their customers coming back (one reason you should buy skunk not hash), but marijuana IS NOT addictive.

if the people who do it..like being stoned so much...and keep coming back for more..would you consider that addicted?

yeah, i've had a bunch of friends that get pissed off and say 'nooo, its not addictive'... - that itself seems to me a pretty good sign they are - yeah, its not physically addicting, and yeah they like the feeling, but theres no stopping unless they go to rehab - and then they fuck up their lives, and keep smoking, keep getting caught, keep going down - just about all my friends do it cause we live in a shit small town with nothing better to do, and they're never going to go anywhere cause of it - someone i care dearly about does, and she can't stop, and doesn't want to, and thinks that its not a lot if its not every day, and i worry, but its none of my business, right? - another friend stopped for a month and couldn't stand it any longer and returned - weed IS addictive, maybe not literally addicting, but since when the fuck do you believe everything people tell you... just wait till you all your friends can't stop, even when its ruining their life, and all thats left is denial, then you'll see its addictive... but whatever, their life, right? yeah, i've had a lot of trouble trying to decide whether UO is pro or con drugs, at first glance my stoner friends are all 'LOOK, THEY TALK ABOUT DRUGS!!! AWESOME!" but theres a certain element of sarcasm about the drugs if you dig deeper into the lyrics i believe... does anyone know if the band's broken up? i haven't heard anything for ages, its a shame, bands release debuts with tons of potential, then break up... hope they didn't, think they have nice future ahead...

It's not addictive, it's the tobacco you roll it with that's addictive.
