Butterflies Lyrics
If you want me baby,
you've just got to let me know (let me know).
If you want me baby,
you've just got to let me know.
Dont go chasin after butterflies.
when everything you want is right here by your side.
Dont go chasin after butterflies.
when everything you want is right here by your side.
If you need me baby,
you've just got to let it show (let it show).
If you need me baby,
you've just got to let it show (let it show).
Why dont you lower your defense.
there's no more room for walls or fences.
Why dont you lower your defense.
there's no more room for walls or fences.
If you want me baby,
you've just got to let me know (let me know)
If you want me baby,
you've just got to let me know (let me know).
Don't go chasin like the butterflies,
when everything you want is right here by your side.
Don't go chasin like the butterflies,
when everything you want is right here by your side.
If you need me baby,
you've just got to let it show (let it show)
I said
If you need me baby,
you've just got to let it show (let it show).
Why don't you lull your defense,
no more room for walls or fences.
Why don't you lull your defense,
no more room for walls or fences.
The first time I saw you,
I felt something inside.
Well, the first time that I saw you,
I felt something inside I couldn't hide.
You know,
the first time that I saw you,
I felt something inside I couldn't hide.
Don't go chasin like the butterflies,
when everything you want is right here by your side.

Can anybody tell me, where to find this! I love Norah Jones! Really wanna hear this song....
I found it on Kazza along time ago, way before the whole world fell in love with Nora, so try that. I dont know if its on a album or not, tho.
I also found this song in Kazaa, but then I found out Norah Jones recorded this with another band. After a little research I met the source...

I love that they use ad-ins from "Street Car Named Desire"...That movie/play was great. The song is about Blanche Dubois. Read about her character. Just goggle her character.
Actually, the song isn't just about Blanche DuBois because the sound bites are not just from Streetcar, but also from CasaBlanca. ("I never thought I'd see you again," "Who are you now and what were you before?" and "Where were you last night?" are all quotations from that movie.) Also, the quote included from Streetcar is when Blanche is really desperate and hits on the young mailboy/paper delivery boy...don't remember from highschool; not from her relationship with either of the two main characters (Stanley and Stella), so that makes the song even more removed from being exclusively about Blanche.
As far as what this kind of evokes for me is the idea of the fairy-tale/black&white/old-fashioned romance ideas that are all a little bit twisted and sad. Even the infamous characters in those beautiful movies have been immortalized because of their pain, not because of the simplicity and happy endings. Regardless, the song still makes me want to watch those movies and live in them!
