a long time ago, before mankind got this boring everything was perfect, people cared bout each other, they worked hard, they had imagination, and today everyone is in front of a computer all day and doesnt really care bout the surrounding world

Sadly this song holds very true. It's like Alucarda said, it's about back before mankind was corrupted and became obsessed as we are now. Things were perfect, they were wild, beautiful. I mean think back a thousand years, people back then belieevd there life was great. Go and see wide spread oceans and beautiful scenery, explore the wild unexplored. The excitement. And they cared for each other. Look at what mankind has become now.

Its about daydreaming, its the simplest way to explain it to you!! It's about dreaming your life away: "For this gift of dream I must pay the price with the loss of life´s pleasures" ...Nothing in reality could ever compare to your dreams...So don't compare, and you'll be happy!

...as for your guys's theory about "before technology" crap...Well, i don't think people were all that happy then...If you ever took history you'd know. People were lucky if they lived to 30, they suffered immensely... I wonder how you'd feel if you walked in their shoes for a few days? Hmm? Sore, hungry and wanting your technology back...

....I think it's another of Tuomas's 'inner child' songs. He's not really talking about dreaming your life away: he's talking about ceasing to dream. He's warning people not to give up their dreams: "Cherish the moment Tower the skies Don´t let the dreamer fade to grey like grass" But, meh, as with most of his songs, you can make an argument either way.....Though where these people keep coming up with the 'Christ' arguments is beyond me.....

I think it's about looking back at childhood. When you're a little kid, every day is like an adventure because there's so much you haven't discovered yet. You believe that amazing things can happen and that a wonderful journey of discovery is about to happen to you. But as you get older, your world sort of contracts, and you get used to the fact that life is mundane and nothing magical ever happens.

It's about wanting to return to a time in your life when you believed in the impossible.
