Want An Anarchy? Lyrics

they call the US a free country
well, it's not and you know it
it's nothing but fascism, capitalism, and fear
they're lying and
we're crying out to everyone here
we can fight back
we can fight back
they're got us bowing on our knees
we can stop them
we can fight back

we want anarchy!
we won't take no
we won't take
we want anarchy!
we will fight back
we will fight back

can't buy a beer, can't buy cigarettes
but I can die fighting for that freedom
that freedom that they're taken away
we can fight back
the taxes-every time you buy a beer
you fuckin' pay them
you give them all your money
while you drink your life away
if we are all united
we can take back our lives
while they stand divided
we can fight them and their laws
if we get up off our knees
we can show them that we are people
we can take back this "free" country
we can have an anarchy
there is freedom for all people
they contradict this everyday
there are laws against the Cubans
there are laws against the gays
there is freedom of religion
we can choose any of them all
but the Christians rule this country
and the priests are above the law

I really dont think this is an anti-flag song. It really doesnt ound like their writing style. Plus they dont drink or smoke, their Straight edge.

well...it is an anti-flag song. it's even listed on the discography on their official site. it was the one of two songs released on a 7" split with god squad back in '95. it was never re-released, so you'll only have the chance of downloading it (it's a little hard to find). though, they'll all be shitty since they're all the same mp3. whoever recorded this while it was playing off their vinyl didn't do a very good job...

punk in drublic says... this song is pretty direct. I love A-F because it kinda gives u hope that a lot of what the government is doing athough they're focusing a lot on the bad.. but isn't that the way to change? To realize the problems?

Only #2 drinks. I never heard this song. It doesn't sound like something they would write considering they aren't anarchists, but I'm gonna look for it anyway.

I can't find this song anywhere... the only version i've found is really shitty.

this song has a great message. i wish everyone would listen to bands like anti-flag and listen to what they have to say, but instead people are too busy praising this country to realize the truth about the lives that they live.

they're not anarchists and they don't drink or smoke :| strange little song.. maybe it's saying people should have the right to drink and smoke even if they don't themselves, and anarchy just being a phrase to mean change.
