Carry Stress in the Jaw Lyrics
Powder grinding mouthful
Pull the day from the nocturn
Somniloquist is the nightmare's song
"In the multiplied objects of the external world I had no thoughts
but for the teeth...and of Bernice I more seriously believed that all her
teeth were thoughts...the white and ghastly spectrum of the teeth...
meditations were never pleasureable...the phantasma of the teeth
maintained its terrible ascendency..." (Poe)
Lock into bitten dreams perfectionist
break like a childs mouth

This song is about how parents aspirations and dreams suffocate or 'break' the child. Dunn wrote it by the way, not Patton.
That sounds about right. But beyond that, damn this song is pure win.

I went to a Dream Theater concert (rock band). And they played the 'Secret Song' at the end of Carry stress in the jaw when they came out on stage. i was so shocked becuase those are my two favorite bands and they have nothing to do with eachother (i dont think)
Wow "EmbryoSystem", your not conceited or anything....
Is that bad or good...? Submit a correction, I might change... :) Thanks.
No it's not, but it's not what Mike says, if you would like, I can sit for an hour listening to "Carry Stress in the Jaw" until I know each and every word to it, that is what I do with all my lyrical contributations!
Dream Theater covering Mr Bungle...now I've heard it all!
Great song. No meaning though. Well, no proper one except what's given.
When I first listened to Disco Volante, this was the first song that made me go "wow!". This, the secret song and desert search for techno allah are three amazing songs after another.
It's about grinding your teeth in your sleep. Ah yes, only Mr. Bungle.
Um... Yes, actually that is exactly what Patton sings. I for one have listened to this album on many occasions, and there is no discrepancy between the printed lyrics and those on the album.
But there is that little thing right when the speed picking ends and it's just drums and a distorted Patton for 3 counts, and then the palm muted staccato thrash section. But he probably just made a noise or something. Sounds amazing either way.
I'm going to see Secret Chiefs 3 open up for Les Claypool tonight by the way.
