Good song. The way he personifies Love is really a unique approach. Well written and very real, its very easy to relate to
I believe that he's not only singing to a "love" he once had... but to the actual word love. "So many people use your name in vain" is soooo true, how many people do we all know who have uttered those words and didn't mean them! Its a horribloe thought, yes I know! =p But seriously, i love this song.. because he is singing from his heart to his heart. LOVE... gotta love it!

Per an interview that he gave, Musiq stated he was speaking to Love, as if it were a person. (kind of like he was writing it a letter) That is what I had gotten from it, but I wasn't too sure, until I read the article. I had heard some people interpreted that he was speaking of 'God', makes sense, 'God is Love'. Others interpreted it as a present relationship, also, untderstandable. I do like, though, that it is an actual conversation with "love" itself. Gives it a deeper and more original feel.
mjr1114 You are right. the song was originally titled "Lord", but he changed it beacause he didnt want to be seen as a gospel artist. Ttry it: Where he says "Love", replace it with "Lord".
