I Look out the Window, I see the sun in the sky, for now,
It is not for me
Stories of old times, Black Book of Lies with no reason nor rhymes
No secrets, no disguise

Colour of the jealousy that hangs over thee
Why don't you believe, You still do not know me

Books of true tales, Mirrors of tragedy
Remorseful and pale
As always
These news travel fast

Walking cross snowfields, how can I trust in this path I leave
Fading behind me
Pleading not guilty. It´s in the nature of humankind
Installed in a man child

Life can do it in many ways, toss dirt on your face
But I am your man, and for you I do all I can

Repeat chorus

Standing on the station, watching your train slowly disappear
I´m only shell of a man, I thought you knew who I am

Solos

But go ahead and blame the fool
You have beliefs that aren't true
I have not lived the life you read from

The books of true tales, Mirrors of tragedy
My life is no game
It's a real shame the false news travel fast

Why do you keep me in the agony?
"The Book of true tales"
How can you hate and keep me in this agony?
"The Mirror of tragedy"
I haven't lied, I haven't cheated!
"The Book of true tales"
What do you think? What do you see when you look in
"The Mirror of tragedy"
And I'm still your man, and for you I do all I can

Books of true tales, Mirrors of tragedy
Remorseful and pale
As in past, these news travel fast

The books of true tales, Mirrors of tragedy
My life is no game
It's a real shame the false news travel fast

Maybe this song is about rumors and lies someone spread concerning the lyrical ego?

But go ahead and blame the fool You have beliefs that aren´t true

    Seems quite clear to me.

Not quite but close, with the lines "Colour of the jealousy that hangs over thee. Why don´t you believe, You still do not know me." and "Standing on the station, watching your train slowly disappear. I´m only shell of a man, I thought you knew who I am..." it's clearly about a relationship broken over baseless accusations. I pointed to this song in comments about their "4th Commandment" song, so I might as well note the two have very similiar theme. This one if FAR more regretful with lines like "And I´m still your man, and for you I do all I can" and "It´s a real shame the false news travel fast". If you want to link the two, 4th could be about the rumor-spreaders and this one about someone who's too easily taken by rumors.

umm... Wolf76, did you mean "8th Commandment"?

Anyway: I find your interpretation to be pretty valid. Rumor Spreadors (8th) and rumor believers (False News). I think another good point to add to that line would be Silver Tounge (those who dont understand what they hear) (maybe).

    Pretty good song

    My Interpretation

wel... whenever i hear this song, i can´t help but think of a man, in the middle age, who is being wrongly punished by the catholic church(saint inquisition), with lines like "Stories of old times, Black Book of Lies with no reason or rhymes" (it could mean the bible, but a wrong interpretation of it), "You have beliefs that aren´t true" being the catholic misreading the bible and, this specific part: "Why do you keep me in the agony? "The Book of true tales" How can you hate and keep me in this agony? "The Mirror of tragedy" I haven´t lied, I haven´t cheated! "The Book of true tales" What do you think? What do you see when you look in "The Mirror of tragedy" " Seems to me like him, pleading for his life or something while they just say "The Book of true tales" and "The Mirror of tragedy", like theirs is the one and only truth. But again, this don´t quite fits with some lines, like "But I am your man, and for you I do all I can " and "Standing on the station, watching your train slowly disappear", as well as your interpretations doesn´t quite fits with the chorus "the book of true tales" has nothing to do with "a relationship broken over baseless accusations". If you´ve read this far, thank you(took quite a long time to think about and write all this, more than it took for you to read it) and this is just my take on this song, i´m not saying i am rightm but this is my interpretation. Hope you enjoyed it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
