Volcano

its definitely not about sex. its really only about a new speaker or stereo. PUSA songs are usually not any deeper than you think. "Sony shut down... Magnavox meltdown" reference to audio equipment? i think so. kind of like the system is underground at a party and its too loud that it is blowing either itself up or it causing volcanoes to erupt. "Under the island... middle of a mountain / There is a big bad... boomin' system / Blowin' speakers... woofers and tweeters"

Haha I dunno if its about sex, allthough you make a good case. Good song either way, I'm suprised its one of their more lesser known songs.

i think that it's about mt. rainier (a volcano near seattle) which would make sense cuz they are from seattle. and mt st hellens is a volcano near portland that blew up sulfur gas and stuff in 1980.

like most Presidents' songs it seems real silly on the outside but opens itself up to many a perverted interpretation.. I think there's deftly an undercurrent of sex going on here. The impending eruption of a volcano makes for a good comparison to the tension and anticipation of "getting it on"

although it does bug me that words like magma, tectonics, and stereophonic aren't spelled right. argh. fix 'em!!! (please?)

cmon guys. its just about a volcano, Mt. Saint Helens a mountain in Washington, about 40 miles away from seattle, their hometown, that erupted. and its just a kind of humorous interpretation of it. nothing sexual at all

i kinda thought it was about him getting a big new stereo system, sometimes you dont have to read to deep, and i think these guys put the innuendo in there on purpose be cause they just like to write silly songs. ^^^ run on sentance, no?

It could just be relating music and the eps and flows of that to the randomness of a volcano - I agree with AirCooled... its normally simple.

ok, this song is about sex more than peaches is. a "fountain of white hot lava"? wonder what that could be! "It's in there growin" there's another one! they certain parts of the female anatomy (like a female named Helen) sometimes don't have the most pleasant of odors, perhaps like sulfur. Well not sulfur, but sulfur smells, and so does...that. "The Island is shiftin, the plates are liftin, the core is creamy, docile and dreamy" she took her clothes off, to reveal her soft center. He is so wowed that he almost craps his pants.
