Amazing sone, there's probably not a hidden meanin, instead of the obvious - That it's a song about a prostitute and who also works day shifts at the diner where the guy tried to pick her up but was stunned to say anything.
I mean't a prosititute in a strip club, not one on the streets or something.
The presidents are from Seattle, and here there's an idependently-published weekly magazine called "The Stranger". In the magazine there are movie reviews, concert info, and personal ads. There's also one section called "I Saw You" or somthing. In it people can try and get in contact with people they met or saw in the area. All the lyrics from this song are actually taken from the magazine.
Great song. Sounds like okapiqueen has it right. I could listen to this song all day...very catchy...
