Why is it everything's all loneliness with me? I guess sometimes I try
to hard, and sometimes you cause it, but it always carries on and on. "What
did you ever become?" you asked. I said, "I was told to be smiles and bright
eyed happiness, but sometimes I can't find anything to laugh at." "I don't
want to be here." you said. It seems like I almost always have that effect
on everyone. I say to myself, "You aren't the first one to think like me."
And I just want to be like everyone else. Why can't I be everything to
everyone else, or maybe just to you? Just once I would like to be something.
And I wouldn't mind if you'd like to be with me.

This exactly how I feel a lot. A lot right now too. Saves The Day rules, these lyrics prove it. Any guy, I know, must go through this too many times.

Other than "All I'm Losing Is Me," I think this song has got the best lyrics!! I can relate to every single part of it in some way, it's so incredibly good. They didn't play it when I saw them in concert though :(, but were still amazing!

    I adore this song.

"I was told to be smiles and bright-eyed happiness, but sometimes I can't find anything to laugh at"

I know how it is to have people trying to cheer you up and you just can't bring yourself to be happy.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
