' a letter with no love at all because iit's over'.... he's only sorry because she doesn't deserve to be abandoned, 'cos he know she's suffering so much he can even 'feel the tears'. a very struggling song. it make me almost cry.

Great song. Very sad lyrics, but awesome chords, especially during the last 2-3 minutes. Mike Lindup's falsetto on the final refrain is spine-tingling.

I would even say it's the saddest song ever and I am male. its a beautiful song, incredibly touching, absolutely. nevertheless I can't listen to it, because it's simply too sad. I don't enjoy feeling sad.

Just discovered this great online forum and had to put this song in, one of my all time faves. As previously commented, this song gives me the chills also, especially the line about walking into the lonely afternoon, i have in my own mind what a lonely afternoon looks like. Have loved this song since buying running in the family in the mid/late 80's. It was the first CD i bought.
