Like It Or Not

This is SUCH a beautiful song. The lyrics themselves are just amazing, but when you actually hear the song....it's almost like you take a step back to think for a minute & go "Wow, that really means something". :angel:

I love this song, but the lyric "I thought I tripped on a shoelace. I looked down it's only you" is kinda crap...kinda ruins the whole vibe of the song for me!The chorus is wonderful though, and the song is beautiful!

I think that this song is about a man who is truly in love with a girl that is in another country. He is nothing without her and has been possibly 'dumped' by her, and he isn't going to give up on her just yet.

The song is beautiful, even the line "I thought I tripped on a shoelace, I look down and it's only you"...in fact it's one of my favourite lines, it's such a subtle way of saying "I felt something was wrong with me, I just didn't know what it was until I found out: it's you what I'm missing, what is aching". I know it's probably just one interpretation, but knowing Darren I know it can be one of his mannerisms. His voice sound wonderful as well, still I have to say that even though it's a great song and one of my favourites in Spin, it doesn't compare to the heavier stuff contained in The Tension And The Spark.

I just love this song. I think it's obviously about his tough divorce with his wife. Although I've never been in that situation, it just captures so well the thoughts of wreckless abandonment, just wanting to see them because a large part of you still loves them. It's so deeply moving, and a little scary because it shows that you may never get over some people, even when you know that it's best to move on with your life. Very beautiful and heartfelt. Yes Gabigs, I know what you mean. It's even so hard to comparing the two solo-cd's, because they both have completely different feels to them. They're both artistically and musically brilliant, but both in totally unique ways. Shows his amazing diversity.

You said it better Misseverus, at the moment I'm so scared of never getting over someone and I know I have to because he just hurts me. But he never goes away, he's always around and it scares the hell out of me that he might be a ghost in my memory and my thoughts of what we could have been if things would have been different. Being aware that you can't just turn back time and that it can't be fixed...it's soul-wrecking... It's truly moving, I remember it was terribly touching when I first got Spin in 2002, it would bring me to tears, his voice is so low in here giving the exact and so down feeling...

Aww, girl. You're gonna make me cry. I feel for you so deeply, as I am in a similar situation at the moment. It's tough to be girls sometimes...I mean, we get so emotionally attatched, especially after something sexual with another person. Guys can do whatever they please and may never feel the same emotions, not even a fraction of our emotions. It's such a vicious cycle because it feels as though at the drop of a hat, if they gave an inch and maybe showed you they could change, you would drop everything for him! I'm so scared too... I have liked this boy for 7 years of my life, and we just recently became more than friends. I know we'll get through this. Through each other and of course, Darren.

This song defines such an upkeep like a man who was in love with a girl and after thier breakup the man wanted to leave the country but he still can't leave it cause as he sings "I just canceled my flight" so it means he decides not to leave country and striving to make a decision of return...

I've always seen it the way that he is visiting this ex-lover og -friend in Australia and the thing with canceling the plain to America means he stays, or that he should be going to America and decides to cancel that plain and visit the person instead. Maybe not to get the relationship going again, but because he cannot help it, and just want to see her/him. And because he miss the person so much, he says he's going to visit, whether they like it or not.

I've always imagined him in the airport and the plain on his way and in the end standing at the doorway ringing the bell and holding his breath hoping for the best. In a way this song actually kinda reminds me of "Don't Know You Anymore".
